I have been practising Yoga under the supervision of my teachers
in the tradition of Sri K. Patthabi Jois
Sri K. Patthabi Jois (1915-2009) and his guru Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya
(1888-1989) are well known for their successful utilisation of yoga as a
therapeutic method to recover from diseases, injuries and chronic illness.
The sequence of the Asanas
is individually balanced to the needs of the practitioner. Every lesson ends with deep
relaxation in a lying position.
The postures are performed in light and comfortable
clothing, lying, sitting and standing on a thin mat. The selected postures are part of
the Roga Chikitsa, which have a therapeutic effect on the body. In case of physical
impairments the Asanas can be simplified or practised on a chair. My method is
appropriate for people from 6 to 99 years.
